The beginning of my journey to 26.2!

Standard

This weekend included a lot of fitness, food, and friends — what could be better than that?

Yesterday morning started with a big batch of these OMG Pancakes from Carrots n Cake. And guess what — OMG, they were so good. I’ll let you drool at the pictures over at CNC since they were much prettier than mine, but I enjoyed four small pancakes topped with almond butter, flax seeds, and TJ’s Maple Agave syrup. Yum!

I waited a few hours to tackle a workout after my amazing breakfast but headed to the gym around noon and knocked out this “Insane Incline Treadmill Workout” (based on Sweet Tooth Sweet Life’s treadmill workout) and an arm strengthening workout with supersets.

Yesterday afternoon, I headed to The Journey for church, followed by a leadership training I had to lead for our small group leaders. It went really well, but I didn’t get home until after 8:30 with one thing on my mind — food! Luckily, we had some leftover pizza that Andy’s mom brought down — homemade wheat dough pizza with lots of vegetables — it’s amazing!

I ended the evening by catching up on Parenthood — which might have been the most depressing episode yet. (I don’t want to spoil it for anyone so we’ll leave it at that, but wow!) Regardless, I absolutely love the show this season! Between Kristina’s cancer diagnosis and Julia learning to parent Victor, I love the storylines this year. Anyone else?

Today started off with a 6.5 mile trail run with a friend. It was incredibly muddy, so I’m glad I wore my old shoes — they were covered in mud (as were my legs)! However, it was a beautiful trail and a great way to spend a Sunday morning!

Today was the first of my full marathon training plan! After looking at a lot of different plans and talking to different individuals who had completed their own marathons (a big thanks to Lindsay for her help!), I developed my own plan. Here’s to training season!
